Our mission is to support single-gender, college-preparatory, public education in Texas and beyond, giving young women the academic and leadership skills to achieve success in college and in life.

By utilizing public-private partnerships and innovative methodologies, FEYW is working within the system to ensure that all of our students graduate from high school and are adequately prepared to achieve success in college. FEYW formed its first public-private partnership with the Dallas Independent School District, and in August 2004, the first all-girls public school in Texas, the Irma Rangel Young Women’s Leadership School, opened its doors. After compiling impressive results in Dallas, FEYW partnered with school districts in Austin, San Antonio, Lubbock, Fort Worth, Houston and Grand Prairie bringing the number of FEYW network schools to seven across the state.

The Irma Rangel Young Women's Leadership School has graduated six classes of seniors, and the Ann Richards School for Young Women Leaders has graduated two classes.  2014 was the first year for graduating classes at San Antonio's Young Women's Leadership Academy and the Talkington School for Young Women Leaders in Lubbock.  We are proud to say that one hundred percent of the students were accepted to a 4-year college or university. The 2014 graduates received $14.6 million in academic and merit scholarships.

We anticipate these same outstanding results from our other network schools as they begin to graduate their first senior classes.
